On Wednesday November 13 over 70 people came out to hear Dave Humes speak about “The Opioid Crisis in Delaware”. Dave – who lost his son, Greg, to a drug overdose in May of 2012 – is a Board member and the Policy Director of aTAcK Addiction. His presentation covered the extent of the opioid crisis nationwide and in Delaware specifically. He reviewed recent legislative initiatives to combat the crisis and discussed future initiatives as well. He described the 911 Good Samaritan Law in detail. He also discussed the important role of naloxone (Narcan) in addressing opioid overdoses. All who attended found his talk not only informative but also practical. Thanks Dave!
